Career Opportunity at Shahjalal International Airport

Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) announced career opportunity for those who want to work at Dhaka Airport. In a circular, CAAB disclosed that it will appoint a total of 24 drivers in three categories for the organization.

The circular was published yesterday mentioning the career opportunity.

According to the circular, CAAB is inviting application from eligible candidates for the posts of Fire Extinguisher Motor Driver, Motor Transport Fitter Driver and Motor Transport Driver. 08 candidates will be chosen for Fire Extinguisher Motor Driver, 05 drivers will be selected for Motor transport fitter driver post and 11 drivers will be selected for the post of Motor Transport Driver.

For all these posts, age limit will be from 18 years to 30 years and for departmental candidates, the age must not exceed 35 years.

But CAAB will NOT allow applications from the candidates of Narsingdi, Gopalgonj, Madaripur, Shariatpur,Tangail, Chattogram, Chandpur, Cumilla, Khagrachhri, Feni, Laxmipur, Noakhali, Joypurhat, Pabna, Sirajgonj, Narail, Barishal, Bhola, Jhalkathi and Borguna district.

Candidates have been requested to submit application forwarded to Chairman, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh by 16th June, 2019.

Required Documents:

  1. Filled in Admit Card as given proforma
  2. Pay Order/Bank Draft of 200/- Taka
  3. Return Envelope with stamp
  4. Attested copies of all academic certificates
  5. Attested copy of National ID card/Birth Registration Certificate
  6. Citizenship Certificate from UP Chairman/City Councilor/Pouro Mayor
  7. Attested copy of Heavy Driving License( No learner driving license will be entertained)
  8. Character Certificate from First Class Officer
  9. Attested copy of Freedom Fighter Certificate (Where applicable)
  10. Experience Certificate copy (Where applicable)
  11. All copies of papers to be attested by first class gazetted officer having Seal & Name.

All original papers to be presented during viva voce/interview and one copy to be submitted.

Biman’s Second Dreamliner About to Arrive

Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the national flag carrier in the industry of aviation in Bangladesh, is going to receive its second dreamliner aircraft on first week of December this year. Boeing Dreamliner 787-8 is the latest state of the art aircraft with latest technology on board.

The new aircraft is scheduled to arrived at around 4.30pm on December 1, 2018.

Biman expects the flight operation with the second dreamliner from December 10, 2018. Biman will operate 6 flights in Dhaka-London route, 4 flights in Dhaka-Dammam route, 3 flights in Dhaka-Bankok routes every week with this 271 seater big bird.

Dreamliner is able to fly 16 hours at a stretch and consumes 20 percent less fuel than other aircrafts. This aircraft can reach at a top speed of 650 km per hour. Shevron technology has been used in this aircraft to reduce noise on air.

In 2008, Biman Bangladesh Airlines signed agreement with American Aircraft Manufacturer Boeing to buy 10 new aircraft at a price of 2.1 Billion US Dollars. Within this year, 6 aircraft has been added to Biman fleet already. Rest four aircraft are Dreamliner one of which named “Akashbina” arrived in Dhaka at August 19, 2018.

Names of the four dreamliners has been set to be “Akashbina”, “HongshoBalaka”, “Gangchil” and “Rajhongsho”. Honoruable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina named these aircraft herself.

Special facilities

Dreamliner has 271 seat capacity of which, 24 seats for business class and 247 seats for economy class passengers. Made with composite material, this aircraft is lighter than any similar aircraft. Equipped with LED monitor infront of each seat, the aircraft will facilitate the broadcast of 9 tv channels including BBC, CNN. In flight entertainment system (IFE) will entertain the passengers with more than 100 movies, from classic to blockbuster ones. Passengers can also enjoy specially made games in flight.
